Feb. 28th - Inaugural Meeting of Taiwan Association Denmark and Celebration of Lantern Festival

丹麥台灣協會於2026年2月28日正式成立。本會為丹麥註冊之非營利組織，旨在建立在丹台灣人的互助網路，推廣台灣文化並促進台丹民間交流。本次成立大會獲得熱烈響應，出席人數約50人，其中包括來自駐丹麥代表鄭榮俊大使及歐洲僑界代表。在成立大會中，我們感謝來自大使以及僑界代表的祝福及支持。期許未來能共同為促進歐洲各地台僑交流、連結努力。

成立大會適逢228和平紀念日，會長在開場致敬台灣得來不易的民主，也期盼台灣民主、自由的精神，能與同為自由民主的丹麥社會串聯，並傳承至在丹台僑下一代。當日也正逢元宵佳節期間，現場安排的彩繪燈籠與湯圓體驗，成功讓旅丹台胞及其二代感受到濃厚的家鄉氛圍與文化傳承意義。

丹麥台灣協會的成立是一個重要的里程碑。未來一年，協會將以「互助、互信」為核心價值，定期舉辦各類聯誼與文化講座，持續壯大在丹台灣人的影響力，讓台灣被看見。

Taiwanese Association Denmark was officially established on Feb.28th, 2026. We are an NGO in Denmark dedicated to establishing a supportive network for Taiwanese residents in Denmark, promoting Taiwanese culture, and strengthening the communication between Taiwanese and Danes. Our inaugural meeting received an enthusiastic response, bringing together around 50 participants, including Ambassador Robin Cheng of the Taipei Representative Office in Denmark and representatives from Taiwanese communities across Europe. We are deeply grateful for their warm blessings. Their presence underscores a shared commitment to fostering stronger connections among Taiwanese communities throughout Europe.

The founding ceremony coincided with the 228 Peace Memorial Day. In her opening remarks, the Association’s president paid tribute to Taiwan’s hard‑won democracy and expressed the hope that the values of freedom and democracy—cherished by both Taiwan and Denmark—will continue to inspire and be passed on to the next generation of Taiwanese in Denmark. The event also took place during the Lantern Festival season. Lantern‑painting activities and a hands‑on tangyuan experience brought a festive atmosphere to the gathering, allowing Taiwanese families and their children to reconnect with familiar traditions and the warmth of home.

The establishment of the Denmark–Taiwan Association marks a milestone for the Taiwanese community in Denmark. In the coming year, we will uphold “mutual support and mutual trust” as our core values. The Association will host regular social gatherings, cultural events, and educational lectures to strengthen community bonds, amplify the visibility of Taiwanese culture, and ensure that Taiwan continues to be seen and celebrated.
